Classroom Rules

One of the best books on Classroom Management that I have read was written by Lee Canter and is called “Classroom Management for Academic Success”. I decided to borrow some of the rules that Professor Canter suggests and incorporate them in my classroom. These are the approximate rules I am going to use:

1) Follow directions

2) Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself

3) No swearing, teasing or bullying

4) No running in the classroom

5) Treat everyone with respect at all times.

Some of my English learners and other students who might have a difficulty reading the rules, I will have such visuals as pictures near every rule. In this way, it would be easier for them to memorize and distinguish among the rules.
